Making Delta 8

What is Delta 8?

Delta 8 is one of the most prominent organic compounds or cannabinoids found in the hemp and marijuana plants.
Not only is Delta-8 (D8) THC a potent relaxant, but industry reports indicate that D8 can relieve stress, improve your focus and sleep patterns, ease pain, reduce anxiety, and boost appetite.

How is Delta 8 Made?

D8 is used in:

  • Gummies
  • Beverages
  • Pills
  • Tinctures

.

Getting Delta-8 Through a Cannabinoid Conversion

Cannabis conversion is the term applied to the process of transforming cannabinoids present in raw cannabis, into another cannabinoid. Like CBD into D8.  Its proper name for cannabis conversion is decarboxylation.

  • Create a CBD isolate: Before the conversion can begin, the hemp extract needs to be purified into 98% CBD. The extract undergoes an extensive filtration process, which removes all other cannabinoids and terpenes.

  • Combine with a solvent and acid: Manufacturers add a non-polar solvent, such as heptane, to the mixture. Once fully dissolved, they add an acid reagent in order to produce the chemical reaction and cannabinoid conversion. The solution is then continually stirred from 3 to 18 hours with the solution held at room temperature or heated depending upon the formula.

  • Neutralize and clean the solution: Producing D8 can create several unwanted byproducts, such as solvent and acid residue. So cleaning and filtering the solution is essential. It’s common to use a distilled water and sodium bicarbonate wash and sometimes a rotary evaporator.

  • Test the final product: The most crucial stage of manufacturing is testing. Testing allows the isolation of each compound and ensures unwanted chemicals are not present.

Making Delta 8 Infusion

Deeper Green™ allows the conversion of oil into a water soluble D8 powder for candies, drink mixes, and baked goods.

Deeper Green is over 90% bioavailable to your body. Meaning, that if a product had been infused with 10mg of Deeper Green, your body would be able to utilize 9mg+ of D8. Conversely, oil is only 20% bioavailable and would deliver 2mg or less into the bloodstream. Deeper Green™ uses FDA-approved ingredients and provides a D8 experience you can feel.

A Deeper Green formula provides an industry-leading infusion with the following attributes:

  • Odorless
  • Water-soluble
  • Tasteless
  • Scalable
  • Homogenous
  • Outstanding shelf life

Legal Status of Delta-8 Cannabinoid
The status of D8 is that it is legal. A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit wrote in an opinion published in May 2022 that products containing D8 THC are generally legal because federal law defines hemp as “any part of” the cannabis plant, including “all derivatives, extracts, [and] cannabinoids,” that contains less than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC by weight.
